The snow/ice is so slippery, most hills are impassable in the city now. Please stay safe.

If you did not receive a message from the city's Calling Post, here are details to get your family member(s) into Mountain Park since the roads are impassable for normal vehicles. You can call your family member with this information:

Get to the parking lot at the Mountain Park Elementary School or the MP Publix on 92, and call the city's Volunteer Fire & Rescue (MPVFR) at 770 998 3533. A department member will meet the family member and bring him/her home.

The department is helping only with inbound family and cannot assist people wanting to go out of the city.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29 UPDATE:
MPVFR will continue to shuttle residents to their homes today, as per the above. Also, the city's vendor will attempt clearing streets today.

I found pretty useful in monitoring alerts (especially considering the weather).

Nixle provides notification services for law enforcement and government agencies and it’s free.

I want to acknowledge all the effort by our Public Safety Director and MPVFR for their efforts to keep all our citizens safe and in their homes during this inclement weather event. You folks are greatly appreciated by all.
Thank You.

Thank you, City of Mountain Park, for plowing the snow and ice off the streets! We could have been trapped for days -- as we have in the past. How delightful to safely leave the city so soon. Again, thank you.
