Help others in the city know what roads have opened up, improved or remain impassable as everyone starts taking chances for getting back to work. Post your driving experiences in the city and beyond, good or bad, to assist others in making informed decisions about driving safety. As of Monday night, most roads will be considered impassable but, hopefully, conditions will slowly improve. For example, as the bridge between the lakes becomes safe, let others in “Bird Land” know! Help neighbors in your section of Mountain Park.

Maybe the Georgia Navigator site will be helpful once roads in the city are passable:

Above the map, on the left, click on: Atlanta for local map and incidents

Some main roads in the city will be treated by an independant contractor today, Thursday, January 13.

Some wonderful MP residents, Daria and Dave and Bethany and Mark, are making a food run to the Target around noon today. If you need bread, milk or other essentials, please email dwatson07 at earthlink.net before noon with your “order,” address and phone number. (FYI: Email addresses are disguised so spammers cannot "farm" them.)

Not only are the residents getting food, they will report back on the condition of MP Road to the Target and on Old MP Road at the intersection. Stay tuned.

The Mountain Park residents that made the food run report that they were able to get to the Publix at the Old Mountain Park Road intersection. Within the city, Mountain Park Road is now cleaned and passable.

The city’s road clean up vendor has some left over sand/gravel/salt that has been placed at the pool parking lot. Since the mixture will not be applied anymore and it cannot be stored for later use, the city is offering it to citizens for their own use at no charge. Please feel free to take what you need for your driveways.
