Last year, the MountainParkLIfe community gave generously to help a North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) family in crisis have a wonderful Christmas. Please join the MPL elves who hope to gather donated gifts to turn another challenged family’s Christmas into a joyous day! Please act now by committing to a specific gift below.

Last year, the NFCC sponsor program helped 1,650 local families and 3,464 children have a holiday filled with smiles! This year’s needs are increased, due to the economic downturn, and MPL pledged to sponsor a family. As a community, let’s do our part again this year to ensure the family has a merry Christmas!

MPL must deliver the gifts, unwrapped, to NFCC on December 10 – so, time is short. All gifts must be collected by December 9.

Please email “editor at” or post in this forum, indicating your gift giving preference. (Emailed gift selections will be updated in this posting by the editor to keep the list accurate and up to date.) If needed, personal arrangements will be made for MPL to receive the gift(s) or gifts can be put on the City Hall side porch, in the designated bin, from December 6-9, from 5 AM to 5 PM. MPL will pick up the gifts each day.

Here are the gifts requested by the family. Reserve the gift you want to give now by letting us know via email or your post in this forum!

1. Household gift: something the whole family can enjoy or a grocery gift card Donated!

2. The Santa Claus wish list for the family’s children include:

A. Christopher, male, 2 years old, has asked that Santa bring him a:
Toddler riding toy Donated!
Fire truck Reserved!
Batman stuffed toy Dontated!
For clothes, he wears size 4 shirt, 3 pants, 9 shoes

B. Alexis, male, 7 years old, has asked that Santa bring him:
Tonka trucks / hot wheels Hot Wheels Reserved! Truck Donated!
Batman action figure Reserved!
Roller skates with helmet Donated!
For clothes, he wears size 10 shirt, 9 pants and 4 shoes

Food/gift cards and donations
3. NFCC recommends a grocery store gift card for the family’s holiday dinner. One card donated!
4. Other gift cards are appreciated (Please indicate the amount if not shown on the card)
5. Checks will be accepted and used to purchase gifts and/or cards. Please contact “editor at” for details. Three city families have donated via check!
Please give generously and let us know which gift(s) you will give! There’s not much time and much to do to ensure this family has a Merry, Merry Christmas.

Tell your neighbors, friends and colleagues about the opportunity to help the sponsored family. If they do not have access to MPL, tell them to inquire about the program by calling Trish Hill (770-998-5482 or 770-992-7929). Let’s all pitch in to create a happy and blessed Christmas for the family!

A little more information about the sponsored family in crisis:
Alex and Christopher live with a mom and dad. Seven year old Christopher has glaucoma and wears a patch on his good eye as therapy. Rubi, the mom, wrote a short but loving note about her family, also saying baby Alex is very cute. She sends blessings to everyone who helps NFCC, along with wishes to everyone for a merry Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the NFCC family in crisis, with every reserved item converting into a donated gift. The family will have a wonderful Christmas due to the generosity of many Mountain Park residents! Santa will be bringing the kids everything they asked for, plus the parents will have ample gift cards for preparing a wonderful Christmas dinner and more. The presents and cards will be deliverd to the NFCC drop off tomorrow, December 10. We will post the family's thank you note when it arrives after Christmas!
