That is NOT a coyote, it's some kind of wolf.

Maybe it's Jim Wright going under-cover?

Jim - just kidding.

Well Forrest lets think about this;
1. its has not been reported anywhere that this animal has harmed anyone or anything
2. we are a wild life sanctuary which applies to all wild life (even the ones that irritate or scare us)
3. whoever pulls the trigger is in far more trouble than this or any other animal has caused ( both legally and communally)
If we are afraid of this animal then we need to have it caught and moved out of Mountain Park.

People who've seen this animal- Was it smaller than about 2 feet tall and 33lbs., with pointed ears that never fall and a long bushy tale? If it does not fit that description then it is not a coyote. There are no wolves near here so it must be some irresponsible dog owners animal. A friend said it was watching her and her dog walk and scarred her. I suggest anyone seeing any lose dogs call Futon County animal control. Discharging firearms is liable to land you in legal trouble.

There are a lot of definitions for a Wildlife Refuge. One is for the ones designated run by the government is an actual definition for those types and they get government funding. Most of the other definitions seem to apply to protecting certain species and not all wildlife and these can be public or private. There was a gray wolf in Georgia but it is extinct now. Anything is possible since people keep non-indigenous exotic animals and they can get away.
Here are some photographs both extinct and present but it still could have been an exotic pet. On another note this could be a Bigfoot type of thing that people claim to see. I believe M. Pate though; but it does open the door of opportunity for others.

The Wolf Dog you have seen is a beautiful and very scared, HARMLESS animal. SHE is a wolf dog and they are hybrids. I am trying to have a wolf dog rescue come out and rescue her.....please please leave her alone and just know she is more afraid of you than you are of her. I am sick to hear people want to kill her or hurt her. I am doing my best to resolve this matter again she is harmless. If you see her feel free to leave me an email: -email- Thank you for your support in this matter.

It’s good that you educated us Adrianne, it sounds like wolfdogs are considered to be bred more like pets, and are not vermin or animals that prey on other things. There must be good and bad dogs and wolfdogs like anything else.
Is that right? I hope this helps.

There are so many things that you don’t even know enough to ask about their existence.
I saw a cowdog in this.
